We've gotten our hands on some pictures of the unreleased CES demo version of Google Talk.
The most noticable difference are the Buddy icons that you can use. Not all the pics are great but you can get the idea!

Update:
It seems that the interaction of Google Talk and AIM will be out pretty soon.
Update 2:
Jeff from BigBlueBall.com had the chance to interview Google Talk engineer Gayle Laakmann.
Gayle has been working on adding the buddy icons to the Jabber-based instant messenger. Google Talk's buddy icon integration is modeled after Apple iChat.
He asked Gayle if she could give him some insight into what we can expect with the recently announced AIM-Google Talk integration. She couldn't tell him much, other than that it would work similarly to the AIM-iChat integration. This is actually good news for Google Talk fans, because it means that you won't need to create an AIM screen name in order for your AIM buddies to contact you on Google Talk.
There was a demo at CES of Google Talk on a Blackberry mobile messaging device, but other than that there was nothing new that she was aware of (or would admit to). But we can expect a public release of Google Talk with buddy icons around the end of the first quarter, and AIM connectivity sometime in the second quarter.

I like what I can see! It was only a matter of time before they got everything they wanted to built in. I think they went about doing this the right way (The Google way)
1. Release generic program
2. Receive feed back
3. Revise
4. Revise (untill perfection)
5. Release from beta.
The only question I have and hope this gets addressed by Google.
Up untill now the instant messaging market has been a constantly changing and updating its look and features. Will they continue this once out of Beta?

It's pretty cool but not very practical. I thought they'll add something more useful. Also, does that mean the call and email button will be gone?

I have noticed on other forums that people are very concerned with how Gtalk will exactly work with AIM.
Like what was said in the few articlas that were posted here and other places from what I understand is it would look simalar to using Gaim,or Tillian, etc. Where you can sign on to several networks with your varius screen names and then add your buddies accordingly.
I know that there are limitations to how exactly they can mesh the 2 networks together.
With that said though exactly how difficult would it be to switch the AOL oscar protocol over to Jabbar?
It would be awesome to have 1 Client 1 Screen name and have the ability to talk anywhere!

The e-mail option will still be there when you double click the person, so will the calling button..but wouldn't it be interesting if when someone is calling you, their buddy icon will flash from it's original state to a phone and back again? That would be a cool idea.

Yeah that'll be a cool and useful function! The buddy icons are actually quite fun to look at but they take up too much space. I also think some kind of function should be added to those buttons...
Speaking of which, please look at the modified version of google talk that I made! It's not perfect but...it's a try...
