Hey! I made this skin about a year and a half ago and 5 days ago it got to the digg main page. That's not pretty bad, huh?

Yeah, no credits for me, but who cares? It has over 400 digs. That means more than 400 people have downloaded it. Yay!

Anyways, due to popular request (by reading the comments), I'm thinking of making an updated version for Yahoo! Messenger 8. I originally made it for version 7.

I'm waiting for suggestions

Update: Actually there are more than 1600 downloads if you check the site hosting the arhive.

First of all, I mean no disrespect or negativity... but what does customizing Yahoo!'s IM have to do with customizing Google's IM? I fail to see the relevancy. I thought this site and forum were about customizing Google's IM, not others IM's to make them look like Google. I would be more impressed with seeing a skin for Google that makes Google's IM look like Yahoo!'s.

I also fail to see the reliance of propagating the use of other IM clients besides Google's by offering a skin.

And about Digg - 400 diggs does not equate to 400 downloads. It just means 400 people thought it was worth clicking the digg link.

I commend you for your efforts and enthusiasm. Perhaps making a skin and theme for Google that looks like Yahoo! could be your next task.

Yes, I agree with you. This website is a Google talk fan site. So there might be Google talk fans who are forced to use Yahoo or just don't like it's interface and might want a little more Google added to it. I think this is the only thing that is not specifically for Google Talk.

Just for the fun of asking: Why would anyone want to make Google talk look like Yahoo? (don't answer this)

That would be a nice challenge, but unfortunately, Google doesn't support skins. You can only make a skins by replacing the original images. That means I have to update the skin (replace all images) on each Google Update. If you update any hacked Google Talk, you will lose any changes made to the .exe

Yeah I know what digg means. But hey actually I should have checked the file hosting service. Guess what! It has over 1600 downloads. I'm even happier heheh! Add the downloads from this site and from my site and from any other I don't know about and it surely has more than 2000 downloads.

If Google ever enabled skinning, I might give your suggestion a try

I can not think of any real world situation that would allow Yahoo! and not Google (web or client). Furthermore I am not trying to be a purist and say you can only use Google or 'how dare you bring up another brands client!'. But for the context of this forum, I just wanted to argue and point out the negative implication of skinning other brand IM clients from a marketing standpoint .

About Digg - I just didn't want to mislead anyone in thinking that 1 digg = 1 download. I think its great you got such a good response. No disrespect.

Would you consider making a skin for Windows Live Messenger 8.1 Final?
I'm sure it would turn out great, & if you send it to the mods at mess.be it would be sure to grab some attention.
